A catalogue that became a formulation practice.
The work that would become Mendrix began in 2019 as a private documentation project. A Jakarta-based food-science researcher, dissatisfied with the absence of ingredient-form transparency in available men's nutritional supplements, began systematically cataloguing every product available in the Indonesian market — recording not only stated ingredient quantities but the specific chemical forms used, cross-referencing them against published data on elemental absorption rates.
The catalogue ran to 214 entries over eighteen months. Its conclusion was straightforward: the majority of products cited nutrient quantities that were accurate on paper but practically diminished by ingredient forms selected for cost rather than bioavailability. Zinc oxide rather than zinc bisglycinate. Magnesium oxide rather than magnesium malate. The stated amounts were honest. The effective amounts were a different record.
Mendrix was formally established in 2021 to build compositions that could answer the catalogue honestly. Each formulation begins not with a marketing brief but with an elemental profile — a documented target for what a given mineral or vitamin complex should deliver against published nutritional research for adult men. The composition is then built around that profile, with ingredient forms selected for delivery rather than declaration.
Every batch produced since the studio's founding has been submitted to independent laboratory analysis before distribution. The verification record is maintained in the Mendrix archive and is available to any customer who requests it in writing.

Market composition catalogue initiated.
A systematic survey of 214 men's nutritional supplement products across the Indonesian retail and import market. Findings documented elemental form discrepancies and formulation patterns across the category.
First elemental profile drafted.
The Foundation Formula elemental profile was drafted and submitted to a food-science review. Ingredient forms were selected against bioavailability data. Supplier shortlisting began; four suppliers were invited to submit certificates of composition.
Mendrix formally incorporated, first batch released.
Mendrix was incorporated in Jakarta. The first production batch of the Foundation Formula was independently verified and assigned lot number 001-A. Registration with the applicable local regulatory authority under food-supplement classification completed in the same quarter.
Range expanded to four compositions. Archive continues.
Three further compositions joined the Foundation Formula: the Activity Complex, the Mineral Recovery Stack, and the B-Complex Daily. Each follows the same formulation methodology. Batch documentation is now in revision 04-B, archived in the Jl. Pondok Indah studio.
Six positions the studio does not move from.
Every ingredient used in a Mendrix composition is identified by its specific chemical form on the label and in the product composition sheet. Stated quantities refer to the elemental content of that form, not the total weight of the compound.
No batch is released without a completed independent laboratory report. This is not a periodic audit — it is a condition of every lot number issued. The studio does not maintain an in-house analytical function; independence of verification is a design choice.
Supplier relationships require submission of a certificate of composition with each delivery. Suppliers whose facilities do not maintain food-grade processing standards are not considered regardless of price. Chain-of-custody records are retained from origin.
Mendrix compositions are not reformulated in response to market trends or seasonal demand patterns. Changes to an existing formulation require a documented compositional review and a new independent verification cycle before any revised batch is released.
Any customer may request the verification record for any batch they have purchased. Requests are handled from the studio within five business days. Documentation is provided in PDF format via the registered contact email.
All Mendrix compositions are built from naturally derived or nature-identical nutritional ingredients. Artificial fillers, binders, and proprietary complexes that resist disclosure are not used. The full ingredient list for every product is publicly available on the product page and packaging.
